The St.Michael’s College community has lost a great teacher who has championed the cause of every student who crossed his path. Batticaloa community has lost an outstanding Educational pioneer.
He was a prodigious educator whose contribution to molding young minds spans for over two generations and three decades can be described as second to none.
Kamalanathan Sir was as committed to the intellectual and social development of his students, as he was to family life. His dedication led him to give selflessly of his energies and time to the development of the school’s community. He exemplifies the ideal educator, a brilliant communicator, firm, and dignified in manner, and noted for keeping his students focus.
So long Kamalanathan Sir. Thank you Sir for your dedication, wisdom and contribution to our learning. Thank you for the matchless contribution you have made to the development of our Alma Mater.
History of St.Michael's College
In The Year 1868 Fr.Francis Xavier Philip the first Tamil secular priest of Ceylon was Sent to Batticaloa by The Bishop Jaffna , Who Was also in Charge of the East Mgr Christoper Bonjean, With a sum of Rs 500 to start a boy's English school in Batticaloa.
