Obituary of Mr.Sasitharan Selvanayagam
[December 21, 2010]

Dear Friends,

It is with deep regret to inform you all that one of our well-wisher and founder member and former President of Alumni Association of Batticaloa Hindu College, Mr.Sasitharan Selvanayagam(SASI) died under tragic circumstances on Saturday, December 18th night in Scarborough.

Late Sasitharan had supported our association immensely in the past years by joining us in most of our activities. At Mikes Night 2010, through us, he made an open invitation to Engineering students from our community to get in touch with him to get employment at Toronto Hydro. He also played a vital role during the fund raiser for Batticaloa Public Library by the Alumni Associations from Batticaloa in 2002/03 and Tsunami fund raiser in 2004/05.

We, the North American chapter of St.Michael's College alumnus, deeply sadden by the loss of our dear friend Sasitharan Selvanayagam and our deepest condolenses to his grieving family and to all who knew and loved Late Mr.Sasitharan Selvanayagam.

Obituary of Mr.Robin David

It is with deep regret to inform you all that Michaelite, Mr.Robin David passed away
on Sunday, Sept.27th in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka.

He is the father of Michaelites Niraj and Nitharshan and Cecilians Nijitha and Nilusha
and brother of Late Ranji Thangavelu, Late Ilangai David, Sahunthala Francis,
Sugunam Joseph, Jothi David and Logan David.

Cortege leaves residence No.19, Hospital Rd, Batticaloa at 3.00 p.m. and will be followed by Holy Mass at St Mary’s Co - Cathedral 19, Hospital Road, Batticaloa.


Obituary of Mrs. Antonette Rajendram

It is with deep regret to inform that Mrs. Antonette Rajendram passed away after a brief illness on Friday, May 22nd in Batticaloa.

Predeceased by her husband H.M Rajendram(Old Michaelite) and lovingly remembered by children Michaelites Mahindan, Sashan and Mithilan & Cecilians Bamini and Dharmini.

Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 25th at 3.00pm at St.Mary's Church, Batticaloa followed by burial at Aalaiyadicholai cemetery in Batticaloa.

This is to inform that Mr.G.Vivekananthan, an old student of St.Michael's college and Hindu college(Government college), passesd away in Toronto, Canada on March 17, 2009.

He will be missed by his devoted wife Gunaluxmi and loving children Kala(Hindu college),Suganya(Hindu college), Renuka(Vincent school), Rajani(Hindu college), Babu-Pratheepan(St. Michael's College) and Gayathri(Vincent school).

IT Police Headquarters), Muriet (UK), Fabien (UK), late Felicien, Danton (UK) and Sharmilat (UK), and beloved sister of Thavam (I.T. Canagaratnam, Retd. DIG Police), Manohari (UK), late Selvam, Anpu (UK), Nithyam, and Rita.

Cortege leaves residence 24, Central Road , Batticaloa at 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday 17th February for Holy Mass at St Mary’s Co- Cathedral and thereafter for interment at General Cemetery , R.C. Section, Alaiyadicholai, Batticaloa.

 


Obituary of Mr. Y. G. Edward

An old boy of St. Michael's College, Batticaloa, and the former Chairman of National Paper Corporation of Sri Lanka Mr.Y.G. Edward passed away on February 16, 2009 at the age of 85, in Toronto , Canada . His children Amalraj Edward (Son) and Mridula Edward (Daughter) are also Michaelites.

Mr. Sinnathamby Mylvaganam, retired teacher, passed away peacefully in Batticaloa on February 1, 2009. He is the father of Michaelites Inparajah, Arulrajah, Rawindrarajah, and Vathsaladevi. His oldest son Mr. Inparajah Mylvaganam is also a vice-patron of the Past Pupils’ Association (North American Branch) of St. Michael’s College. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
