Michaelites Are The Ultimate Achievers

Most of the Batticalonians know that Michaelites are the ultimate achievers! This has been proved once again during the recent Big Cricket Match which was played on last Saturday, the 4th July 2009. Through this unique event of the Big Match, it was evident that everyone was reminded of the historical mile stone of St. Michael’s College.

It was obvious that the Michaelites were the vigorous players, with dynamic personalities, thus shunning all petty differences, cast, creed and religion etc. Their energetic diversified talent, play strategy, perseverance, tolerance and team work has rewarded the mighty victory in the Big Match with the BT/ Central College. The SONS of Michael have proved once again that they are no less Victorians to a gigantic group of worriers and revolutionist with the simple nature of amicable peace building!! It is highly commendable that up to the very last ball, the SMC players showed their tenacity and willingness to win the Big Match on that day, which was a similar event that took place some 10 years ago in the history of SMC.

My CONGRATULATION goes to all players who took keen interest and exhibited their diversified play-skill.

I take great pleasure in extending my sincere gratitude and thanks to each and every one of the Michaelites, well wishers, supportive old boys of SMC and the common public who were with us throughout and encouraged us towards this victory; and I feel everyone has a share in this achievement. I will be failing in my duty if I miss to thank the Canadian Branch, the Secretary Mr. Sashan Rajendram who has been with us in our ups and downs of the process; at the same time I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the other Branch members, Teams and individuals who acted as our back-bone and all those help me while staying ‘behind the screen’ throughout, in the path of our victory.

Presently, we are making all necessary arrangements to celebrate this enormous achievement!!  Once we have finalized the programme of the ceremony, it will be notified to you without fail. Together with this I shall provide the details of the match here below:
