Boys Came 3rd in All Island Basketball

Under-19 basketball players of St. Michael’s College won 3rd place in the tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association.The tournament took place from February 6, 2009 till February 9, 2009 in Colombo. After 5 years, college came up to semifinals and got a place in national level basket ball.

“Our celebrations and Basket ball history is slowly shining up”, noted I.J.Sylvester, the current Sports & Social Secretary of Alumni Association in Batticaloa, which organized a traditional welcome in cooperation with college to the team and the coach on February 10, 2009 when they arrived at Batticaloa. Sylvester also expressed his appreciation to the members of SMC Alumni Association in Colombo for their commitment and the support during the tournament time. Past Pupils’ Association (North America) of SMC would like to congratulates the team for a victory that is about to produce a rejuvenating effect in the Alma Mater.
